EUROPE - AXA Investment Managers has hired Nicolas Moreau as chief executive.
Donald Brydon, chairman of AXA Investment Managers had combined these two roles for the past five years. He remains as chairman, a full-time appointment.
Moreau is presently chief operating officer of AXA IM, in addition to being chairman of AXA IM Private Equity and vice chairman of AXA Rosenberg Investment Management.
He joined AXA in 1991 as a vice president in the treasury department, and in 1994 became the head of the corporate finance and treasury department of the AXA Group. In 1997, he joined AXA IM in order to build the firm’s quantitative and derivative activity.
In January 1999, following the acquisition by AXA IM of a majority interest in the Rosenberg Group, Moreau became chief executive officer of AXA Rosenberg before taking up his present responsibilities.
Established in 1997, AXA IM, a wholly owned subsidiary of the global AXA Group, now has EUR277bn assets under management in Europe.
