UK - Standard Life Investments has added a new range of manager of manager (MOM) pension funds in conjunction with Wilshire Associates.
These will be available via SLI’s trustee investment plan and personal pension investment plan contracts.
The new range will provide enhanced investment choice with access to a MOM balanced managed fund and seven underlying funds covering the different assets and sectors from which the MOM balanced fund is created.
Wilshire will select managers to form blended portfolios for the underlying assets classes, with the exception of property and cash, which will be managed by SLI.
SLI’s new MOMs funds will enable advisers and consultants to tailor the asset mix of clients in line with their risk requirements, while allowing them to outsource the manager research, selection and monitoring to Wilshire Associates, the investment manager said.
George Walker, head of UK institutional busxiness at SLI said: “This demonstrates our commitment to the corporate pensions market in offering increased investment choice, beyond SLI managed funds, and product innovation to our clients.”
Investors, driven by depressed interest rates, slower global economic growth and rich equity market valuations are examining non-traditional investment opportunities.
