UK/US - US-based Wal-Mart has amended its equal employment policy after talks with UK fund manager, Isis Asset Management.
Wal-Mart is the largest private sector employer in the world, with 1.2 million staff.
Isis governance and SRI vice-president Elizabeth McGeveran said: “Wal-Mart now joins 90% of Fortune 100 companies and some 318 further Fortune 500 companies in covering discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation in their equal opportunities code.”
