UK - State Street Global Advisors has strengthened its enhanced equity capability with the appointment of Simon Roe as senior investment manager.
Roe, who will report to Chris Woods, SSgA UK chief investment officer, will be lead the management of all enhanced indexation funds in London.
He joins from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was a portfolio manager most recently responsible for the global equity options protected return fund.
Prior to joining MLIM, he spent three years as a senior consultant at Barra International where he was responsible for marketing, sales and client support to institutions in the UK and the Middle East.
State Street said that the appointment reflected its growing success in this area and follows E3bn of enhanced indexation mandate wins by the company in Europe since the start of the year.
