Global quantitative asset manager, First Quadrant, has appointed Alex Weiland as director of European sales and marketing.
He joins the firm from Schroder Investment Management where he started in 1999 as a director of UK institutional business. Most recently he was director of client services Asia with the firm.
Prior to this Weiland spent 18 months at investment house Fidelity, with six months as head of Fidelity Group Pensions UK. Before that he spent nine years at Gartmore Investment Management where he was instrumental in building the firm’s pooled pension business.
Weiland reports to Robert Brown, managing director of First Quadrant.
