Investment Solutions (IS) is set to extend its focus beyond South African borders, with an initial target on the UK.
In the company’s latest annual report, IS chairman Peet van der Walt said that the company has to decide whether to establish a grassroots operation offshore or to acquire a business which could accelerate the company's growth aspirations.
The company has already established a strategic alliance with the Frank Russell Company and also acquired a Jersey-based fund management company to extend its offshore capabilities. IS was chosen as the multi-manager for Lodestone Investments, the new joint venture initiative between Liberty Group and the Standard Bank Investment Corporation.
Managing director Rael Gordon said IS aims to expand its local as well asinternational assets through the institutional and private investor channels Increasingly we are turning our attention offshore with the aim of developing an international business, a search that may include acquisitions in key markets, he said.
