SWEDEN - Informed Portfolio Management (IPM) has expanded into the German and Continental European markets with its first local office in the region.
Von Mentzingen said: "Germany is a large and increasingly sophisticated market. There is a great potential for IPM's capabilities, especially now that investors are looking for the services of successful leading global investment managers."
In July IPM, a manager specialising in quantitative investment management solutions to pension funds, launched two hedge fund programmes specifically for the institutional market.
Von Mentzingen was head of investments at UBS Global Asset Management in Germany between 1994 and 2005.
IPM secured mandates worth US$10bn from pension funds including AP2 and the Environment Agency.
