State Street Corporation has appointed Maureen Miskovic as chief risk officer. In this newly created senior role, Miskovic will lead a global team of more than 250 multi-disciplinary enterprise risk professionals that support State Street's business, customers and operations worldwide. Miskovic, who will step down from State Street's board of directors, most recently served as senior advisor to the Eurasia Group, a research and consulting firm focusing on political risk analysis and industry research for global markets.
UK/US - AIMA and MFA enter alliance
Hedge fund associations, the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) in the UK, and Managed Funds Association (MFA) in the US, have entered into an alliance. Initially, MFA and AIMA will develop an information exchange, participate on each others' boards, discuss the development of shared initiatives and collaborate on educational seminars. AIMA chairman Christopher Fawcett, said: "Our aim is to facilitate communication among our members that will promote a unified approach to issues that impact our businesses and our ability to meet our investors' needs."
UK - NAPF releases conference video footage
The National Association of Pension Funds has made available video footage of key sessions from its recent Pension Funds Conference. Available on its website, the sessions include a keynote address by Lord Eddie George, former governor of The Bank of England, and presentations by Partha Dasgupta, CEO of the Pension Protection Fund, and Paul Myners, chair of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority.
US - Colorado's FFPA retains BNY Mellon
BNY Mellon Asset Servicing has been retained as custodian for $3.5bn in pension funds administered by the Fire & Police Pension Association (FPPA) of Colorado. BNY Mellon will provide global custody, cash management, securities lending, and performance measurement services. Established in 1980, the Fire and Police Pension Association administers a statewide multiple employer public employee retirement system providing defined benefit plan coverage as well as death and disability coverage for police officers and firefighters throughout the State of Colorado.
