US - The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has appointed Anne Sheehan to the CalPERS board.
Sheehan has served as a member of the SPB since December 2003 and also serves as the chief deputy director for policy of the California Department of Finance, serving on more than 80 boards, commissions and authorities, including the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS).
Sheehan is also the executive director of the Governor's Public Employee Post-Employment Benefits Commission.
Rob Feckner, president of the CalPERS Board of Administration, said: "Her strong background in state government, pensions and fiscal management will be an asset as she assumes her responsibility as a fiduciary to the system."
