UK - Learning solutions provider Futuremedia has teamed up with Microsoft to promote a home computer and education scheme to employers.
The software giant will help market Futuremedia’s Learning For All programme, which is based on the government’s Home Computing Initiative. The pair say that HCI offers employers a tax-efficient and cost-effective way of providing their staff with a tangible employee benefit for a minimal investment.
The initiative enables employers to offer staff a range of computer equipment in exchange for a small salary deduction. Employees eventually have the choice of buying their equipment outright or returning it, and ultimately, they can save up to 50% of the cost of a new computer.
Futuremedia and Microsoft say employers can use HCI programmes to motivate people and enhance performance by providing not only a home computer, but also education packages for the whole family, in addition to the employee’s access to his or her own learning zone.
The pair will launch joint marketing campaigns, which could use existing Futuremedia case studies – such as the HCI programme at Royal Mail – as examples of best practice.
