Baring Asset Management (BAM) has appointed Simon Hallett as senior European investment manager in its equity team.
Hallett - who will head research into the technology sector - will be based in London and will report to Neil Robson, head of European equity.
Prior to joining BAM he spent three years at investment house IAI International as deputy head of international investment and senior fund manager (vice president) in European equities.
Hallett will be taking over some of the duties from Louis Bernstone, who left BAM last year.
In addition, Sylvia Solomon re-assumes management responsibility for the Baring German Growth Trust and has been involved in its management since 1998.
Solomon will work alongside co-manager Maria Polycarpou of the Baring Europe Select Trust. Polycarpou manages the Baring French Growth Fund.
