EUROPE - European private equity fundraising fell even more steeply in 2003 than in the previous two years, new figures from research firm Almeida Capital show.
There were a total of 37 final closes in Europe in 2003 worth a combined e17.6bn, down 40% on the 72 closes in 2002 worth e29.3bn. The figures confirm the toughest market since its peak in 2000.
