Aon Consulting has appointed Donald Duval as head of the fiduciary management service it launched with Russell Investments in July.
The fiduciary management offering - Aon Pension Solution - will use Aon's capabilities in liability management and investment consulting along with Russell's investment implementation expertise (PP Online, March 24).
Duval was previously managing director of pensions consulting at Aon but had a significant role in developing the fiduciary management service with Russell.
Alistair Connell will take over as managing director of pensions consulting but will continue with his present role as managing director of Aon's benefit solutions business.
The launch of Aon's fiduciary management business comes just over two years after the firm moved out of the investment management business - selling its UK-based multi-manager business, Aon Asset Management, to Close Investments for an undisclosed sum (PP Online, February 14, 2007).
Close said the deal enhanced its critical mass, manager selection process and manager offering.
