US - J.P. Morgan Asset Management has hired James Gearin as chief operating officer of its retirement plan services business.
Gearin will be based in Overland Park, Kansas and will report to David Musto, chief executive of J.P. Morgan RPS.
RPS provides bundled DC solutions to clients with some $125bn in assets. In his new role, Gearin will be responsible for overseeing operations and technology programmes, project management and business management.
He joins from consulting group Knowledgent, where he led its retirement practice.
