Sharp rise in number of scheme cybersecurity breaches

The number of cybersecurity breaches reported by the pensions sector increased by more than 4,000% in the year to 30 June 2023, research by law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) has shown.

The firm's research found the number of breaches reported to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) for the pensions sector in 2022/23 climbed to 246, compared to six in 2021/22. It also found ...
