AON CONSULTING has launched a six-month wellness programme to encourage mental and physical health among its 50-strong benefits solutions office in Farnborough.
The pilot programme consists of five key strands – hydration, fitness, education, relaxation and nutrition – and recommends people drink 1.5 litres of water a day.
Aon Consulting said being just 1pc-2pc dehydrated could reduce productivity by 10pc-20pc, while regular exercise could improve staff productivity by 12.5pc.
The company is offering staff a combination of massages and individual relaxation techniques, as well as fresh fruit and nutrition seminars.
Aon Consulting head of operational solutions Colin Barnes said: "This is an exciting project and I am pleased with the positive response from the team. While this is only a pilot, we hope to demonstrate that a properly integrated wellness programme can successfully increase productivity and employee engagement.
"Our long-term aim is to roll this out across the business."
Aon Consulting senior consultant Bryan Taylor said: "I really enjoyed taking part in the launch activities. Although I consider myself fairly active, the sessions have really shown me how I could be even healthier by making only small changes to my daily routines.
"As a health and wellness consultant, it is also great to experience first-hand such a comprehensive wellness scheme and I am looking forward to sharing these experiences with clients."
The programme is being delivered through private medical insurer BUPA and relaxation specialist CloudNine.
