Professional Pensions has launched its latest Pensions Review panel debate.
The debate – conducted in association with Goldman Sachs – was chaired by Incisive Media investment division deputy managing director Lawrence Gosling and included Watson Wyatt partner Alan Pickering, Rexam group pensions and benefits manager Terry Faulkner, AllenbridgeEPIC Investment Advisers senior adviser Peter Scales and Goldman Sachs Asset Management head of UK and Irish business Paul Craven.
The panel discusses issues including the Pension Protection Fund’s risk based levy and trustee education.
It asked if schemes should take steps to reduce risk should have that rewarded with lower risk based levy payments; whether inclusion of hedging strategies in risk-based levy calculations would be too complex and if the level of trustee knowledge and understanding needed to be improved.
