University of Surrey implements salary sacrifice scheme

THE University of Surrey has launched a salary sacrifice scheme for employees who are members of the University Superannuation Scheme.

It is one of the first universities to launch the scheme – PensionPlus – and has had a take up rate of 93pc.

University of Surrey human resources director Alan Behagg said: "Salary exchange is an efficient way to deliver savings to both employees and the university by reducing the amount of national insurance contributions it pays.

"All of the savings will help contribute to the ongoing improvement of the university for the benefit of all."

PensionPlus was designed, implemented and administered in partnership with employee benefits provider Benefex.
