MANY schemes are beginning to look at governance software to help improve trustee effectiveness, eShare claims.
eShare managing director Alister Esam said: "It was inevitable that technology would play an increasingly important role in raising standards of pensions governance.
"We want to help schemes put in place solutions that do more than simply provide a knowledge base but actually act like another member of the team."
Esam added: "There seems to be some confusion throughout the industry over what the governance software can do. At eShare we have therefore taken the initiative to define what governance software actually is and what it is capable of.
eShare is to run a survey online to determine industry opinion and help produce a definition of what governance software is.
Esam continued: "Governance Software already does wonders to help schemes manage their workload such as managing risks, managing adviser appointments, and providing a real time view of the status of all governance activities."
The survey can be completed on eShare's website.
