Mercer has confirmed the appointment of Emma Douglas as leader of its workplace savings group.
The confirmation comes after Douglas (pictured) quit BlackRock earlier this year to head up the launch of Mercer's corporate wrap offering - the workplace savings solution (PP Online 21 January).
At BlackRock Douglas was head of DC sales from 2007 and prior to this she was head of DC pensions and institutional client relationships at Threadneedle. She has also worked at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Morgan Grenfell Asset Management and Fidelity Investments.
Mercer UK head of investment consulting and executive sponsor of Mercer's workplace savings solution Fiona Dunsire said: "Emma is a well known figure in our market, having taken a leading role in the development and delivery of DC pensions.
"Her extensive knowledge, together with her strong experience of managing teams and developing client relationships, will be of great value to our new workplace savings team, which she will lead."
Last month, Mercer launched its workplace savings solution with three of the UK's biggest corporate benefit providers - Standard Life, Friends Provident and Zurich - to help employers better manage the cost and risk of benefit provision (PP Online 9 February).
