Northamptonshire County Council has reappointed Mercer as investment consultant to its £716m pension fund.

Mercer will advise the trustees on overall investment strategy – possibly leading to changes in asset allocation.
Northamptonshire pensions manager Ian Gibbon said: "We went through the procedure of reviewing our investment advisor, and we had two other applicants, but it was decided by the pensions committee to retain mercer."
The contract is worth £500,000 and was awarded on September 17.
