GARTMORE Investment Management has hired Dominic Rossi as its chief investment officer.

At Gartmore, Rossi will be responsible for the firm’s investment division - which has £24bn in assets under management and includes over 90 investment professionals.

He will report to Gartmore president and chief executive officer Jeff Meyer and be a member of the firm’s executive committee. Rossi will also be appointed to the board of Gartmore Investment Management subject to regulatory approval.

Commenting on the appointment, Meyer said: "In Dominic, we have been fortunate to find someone with the experience and management style that will significantly impact our business.

"He will be a key contributor to our long term business strategy which is based on delivering outstanding investment performance, continually enhancing our distribution and client service capabilities and seeking new investment teams and products."
