The Universities Superannuation Scheme has appointed Michael Dymond as portfolio manager for its private capital funds team.
Dymond will focus on the selection and monitoring of private equity funds and will report to head of alternative assets Michael Powell.

The private capital team is responsible for managing the scheme's investments in private equity, infrastructure and timberland with the alternative assets programme.
Prior to joining USS, Powell was senior associate within the private equity fund of funds operation at Pinebridge Investments.
USS now has a team of six investment professionals focussing on private capital, as part of the 15 strong alternative assets team.
USS has been investing in the programme since 2007 and now has around $3bn (£1.9bn) across the private capital asset classes.
