Professional Pensions assembled a panel of three industry experts to talk about the key issues in pensions ahead of the PP Show and how to reinvigorate occupational provision.
The high-level roundtable - sponsored by Pension Corporation - was chaired by Professional Pensions editor Jonathan Stapleton and included The Pensions Trust chair of the trustee board Sarah Smart; Barnett Waddingham senior partner Adrian Waddingham; and Pension Corporation partner David Collinson.
The debate looks at some of the key issues in pensions - including measures the government needs to take to reinvigorate occupational pensions; risk sharing and why it needs to be implemented; and asks if the government should remove some of the "bells and whistles" surrounding defined benefit pension provision.

It is a pity that that you had no representative of any organisation that represent pensioners on your discussion panel. Had you done so the view that the change to CPI indexation was "a good thing" would have been strongly opposed. There are several ways of making pensions affordable but robbing existing pensioners of a pension they have paid for is not one that is fair and just and will undermines public confidence in all pension schemes.
