Openbet has revealed its voluntary benefits portal, launched alongside its flexible benefits platform, has received high employee engagement.
Gaming industry software provider Openbet launched its employee discounts programme, Shop, in December 2014 following an internal consultation. Shop is an affinity website accessible through the firm's new reward and benefits portal called OpenBenefits.
The employee discounts programme, provided by P&MM, was used to soft-launch the Openbenefits reward portal.
Openbet worked hard to ensure that the new portal is engaging to its tech-savvy employees. Director of reward Tim Cleaver explains that the portal was designed to be nothing like internal microsites of years past.
"In terms of the look and feel of all our communications, we wanted the portal homepage to look like app icons on a mobile phone," he says.
Openbet worked with Portus Consulting to determine the reward strategy to be rolled out over several months.
"We talked about a three-tier structure. In the first instance, we wanted to have an attractive, relevant and well-understood core benefit offering. Equally critical was having a wide range of voluntary flexible benefits suitable to our workforce demographic and payable through salary exchange where possible.
"Also, we were determined to provide an online and mobile-enabled voluntary benefits portal offering discounts and cashback on products and services relevant to our workforce," Cleaver adds.
By launching the affinity benefits shortly before the busy Christmas and New Year shopping period, Openbet engaged a large number of its employees and continues to see more than a quarter of the workforce regularly logging in to take advantage of the benefits and discounts on offer.
Cleaver concludes: "Straight after the launch of Shop, the portal caught the attention of employees who have been logging in and benefiting from discounts and offers. It was really important that our employees saw the results of their feedback in the launch, and the results show that we have made a real difference."
