Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund

The Cabinet will contribute an additional 2.4% of their salary into the ministerial pension scheme from next month, amid hotly-disputed pension reform elsewhere in the public sector.

MPs have passed a motion transferring the responsibility for setting their pension payments to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).

The Prime Minister says MPs pensions will be subject to the same treatment as the rest of the public sector in the upcoming reforms.
