Gartmore Investment Management has appointed BNP Paribas' Jeremy Hale as its new head of fixed income strategy.
Hale, who takes up a newly created position within the UK based fund manager, will report to Roger Bartley, head of fixed income. Speaking about his arrival at Gartmore, Hale said: Gartmore has excellent people and real ambition both in terms of continuously improving its asset management and risk assessment processes. I am looking forward to working with the existing research, portfolio construction and trading teams.
Hale, 41, has 18 years experience in financial markets. Prior to joining Gartmore Hale was joint director of macro investment group at BNP Paribas. From 1994 to 1997 he was managing director of global hedge fund Tiger Management.

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has granted 11 master trusts extensions to apply for authorisation, as it confirms it has received 22 applications ahead of the 31 March deadline.
Aegon Master Trust, Fidelity Master Trust and Ensign have sent off their authorisation applications to The Pensions Regulator (TPR).
