ITALY - Gartmore has opened up shop in Milan and appointed Nicola Meotti as firm's country head.
Meotti will be responsible for developing Gartmore’s business with Italian institutional investors, commercial banks, private bankers and other bancassurance distributors.
He joins Gartmore form ING Investment Management where he headed up the institutional clients division since 1998.
The Gartmore office will offer a range of investment management products over investment style and risk return profile, and a number of investment management solutions for institutional investors.
Commenting on his appointment, Meotti said: “At the moment the Italian market is very interested in the products of specialist investment managers... . Gartmore’s positive brand presents the Italian team with a good base on which to build our business.”
