EUROPE - Winterthur Life & Pensions, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse Group - has appointed Michael Franz as CEO for Central and Eastern Europe in a bid to develop operations in the region.
The firm currently maintains offices in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Poland, and regards the region as next to Asia in terms of its growth potential.
Before joining Winterthur, Franz worked for Bank Austria, where he held various senior positions in private, corporate and investment banking in the US and in Europe over 25 years.
He also served as chairman of retail operation Bank Austria Creditanstalt in Moscow.
