US - Mercer Investment Consulting has hired Emma Hunt as a consultant dedicated to socially responsible investment (SRI) as the firm sees increased demand for SRI advice from clients.
Hunt, who joins from Forum for the Future, a London-based sustainability think-tank where she headed the centre for sustainable investment, will take up the position on June 13.
Based in London, she will spend her first four months in Toronto, where Mercer’s global SRI team is headquartered.
“More and more clients are coming to us for research and advice in this area, and we are committed to building a top-notch SRI team to assist them,” said Tim Gardener, global leader of Mercer IC.
Hunt has six years experience working in SRI in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. In her new role, Mercer said she will further the firm’s global SRI offering by “contributing to SRI research and efforts, helping clients develop individual SRI strategies and integrating SRI issues into more traditional investment consulting assignments”.
