Ex-MNRPF employers on the hook as High Court approves funding regime

Former employers of the Merchant Navy Pension Fund (MNRPF) will be forced to pay deficit contributions to the scheme after a landmark ruling in the High Court today.

Mrs Justice Asplin also determined the scheme was frozen when all members stopped accruing pensionable service in 2001, affecting when each employer's statutory section 75 debt would be triggered. ...
