Economy rebounds to exceed pre-crisis peak

The economy topped its pre-crisis peak after growing 0.8% in the second quarter, according to an estimate from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

GDP is up 3.1% year-on-year and is 0.2% greater than it was in the first three months of 2008. This marks the sixth consecutive quarter of growth, with services driving the most recent performance....
