DB schemes hit hard by long-term inflation

The recent rise above 4pc in long-term inflation expectations will have serious repercussions for defined benefit pension schemes, Redington Partners warns.

The consultancy firm estimates the increase of long-term inflation expectations by around 0.70pc in the last year has added around £56bn of value to the liabilities of the aggregated pension scheme...
