F&C shares jump as BMO tables £700m takeover bid

F&C shares have jumped by 22% after the group said it has received a takeover approach from Canada's Bank of Montreal.

Initially down over 1% today, amid a wider sell-off which has seen the FTSE All Share drop 1.4%, F&C shares jumped 22% on confirmation of takeover talk. In a statement the asset manager said: "[...
