Xafinity has appointed Sankar Mahalingham from Punter Southall as a senior member of its actuarial and wider management team.
Mahalingham, who will take the role of director, has more than 20 years' experience as an actuary, and specialises in pension scheme risk management and de-risking.
In his previous role he had joint responsibility for building up Punter Southall's transaction services division.
Prior to that he was head of group pensions at RSA Insurance and worked as a director at Towers Watson, where his roles included corporate adviser and investment consultant.
Xafinity managing director Jeff Hunt said: "Sankar has a wealth of experience and a wide range of skills which will prove invaluable at Xafinity.
Mahalingham said: "I have joined an exceptional team and business which has invested to align its services to meet the challenges faced by trustees and sponsors in the current environment."
