Hermes Investment Management has appointed CEO of Hermes Equity Ownership (EOS) Colin Melvin to global head of stewardship.
Melvin will report to chief executive Saker Nusseibeh while Hans Hirt and Emma Hunt will replace Melvin as co-heads of Hermes EOS.
Nusseibeh said that Melvin's new role reflects Hermes' core objective of helping to create a more sustainable investment industry.
Nusseibeh added: "Melvin will be a key contributor to the development of Hermes' strategic stewardship, responsibility and client engagement programmes, enabling Hermes to continue to strengthen its leading position in responsible and sustainable investment.
"He will advise the board and senior management on the development of Hermes' stewardship capabilities, while also leading the firm's external stewardship discussions with asset owners, governments and industry participants."
The government has confirmed the current interim chairwoman of The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO), Caroline Rookes, will continue the role in a permanent capacity.
