DB surpluses rise by £36bn in January, XPS finds

The aggregate surplus of UK defined benefit (DB) schemes rose by approximately £36bn during January, research from XPS Pensions Group has shown.

The latest data from the consultancy's DB:UK Funding Watch tracker revealed the aggregate DB surplus rose to £149bn last month, compared to December's figure of £98bn. The tracker found a 0.5% rise...
