PPF7800 index surplus up by £16.2bn last month

The aggregate funding position of the 4,969 schemes in the Pension Protection Fund's (PPF) 7800 index was up by £16.2bn to a surplus of £271.3bn.

The index, which measures estimated funding positions of defined benefit (DB) schemes in the PPF7800 index based on a section 179 basis, saw funding levels increase by 0.7 percentage points to 130....
