Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves has nominated Imperial College London economics professor Jonathan Haskel as the next chair of the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

His appointment is subject to the approval of the cross-party parliamentary Treasury Committee, which approves all appointments to the Budget Responsibility Committee, including the chair. In ...
