No choice over public sector reform

Hutton's headline recommendations - that final salary schemes should be phased out in favour of a cheaper career average alternative; that member contributions should rise; and that the normal scheme retirement age should increase - come as no surprise to many within the industry or, indeed, the to the unions representing public sector staff.
