Clare Owen has been appointed as a director of outsourced pensions by PS Independent Trustees (PSIT).
Owen (pictured above) who has over 30 years' of experience in the pensions industry joins from Mercer where she was UK leader for governance and trustee services.
She will be based in Wokingham and will be responsible for PSIT's trustee secretarial, pensions management and scheme governance services.
The firm said regulatory pressure on all forms of pension schemes continued to grow and it was seeing increasing demand from employers and trustee boards to help manage their arrangements.
PSIT's managing director Wayne Phelan said: "Outsourcing roles such as scheme secretary, pensions management and governance oversight has proved to be a particularly effective and cost efficient way of accessing this expertise, and it is a growing part of our business."
The government has confirmed the current interim chairwoman of The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO), Caroline Rookes, will continue the role in a permanent capacity.
