Equity market turbulence costs schemes £13bn

Equity market falls of 4pc on Monday increased total UK pension deficits by £13bn, PricewaterhouseCoopers estimates.

The consultant said deficits have tripled from £20bn at the start of the year to £60bn at the end of September 15 on a scheme funding basis, the measure used by trustees to drive their cash funding...
