Private equity fundraising for 2003 poised for slide

EUROPE - European private equity fundraising is set to hit e20bn this year - the lowest level since 1996, according to provisional figures from private equity research firm, AltAssets.

That would also mean a fall of nearly a third from last year's total of e29.3bn. Year-to-date, there have been 32 final closes in Europe worth a total of e16.9bn, compared with 47 funds worth e22.5...
