    • How DC schemes can gain exposure to different asset classes in a low-return environment

So far, DC plans have largely been focused on the onset of auto-enrolment and changes to the regulatory framework - be it the ‘charge cap,' ‘pension freedoms' or consultations around ‘value for money', says Annabel Tonry, Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM).

      Pension freedoms three years on

In 2015 George Osborne, then the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, decided that those age over 55 could take much more of their pension in cash. This has since opened up a range of possibilities for DC scheme members in the world of pensions.

Here they are… The shortlists for this year's Professional Pensions Investment Awards.

The Professional Pensions Investment Awards celebrate excellence among the asset managers who serve UK occupational pension schemes.

The awards, now in their sixth year, recognise asset managers over a broad range of specialisms - and shine the spotlight on those whose achievements may not always be recognised by the more general UK Pensions Awards.

The awards process is unique within the industry - with the shortlist being drawn up in association with Aon, one of the leading investment consultants in the market - highlighting those asset managers who have demonstrated both excellent performance and relative growth in assets under management over the 12 months to 30 June 2019 as well as strong performance over the past three years.

Shortlisted entrants are now being asked to complete a questionnaire to demonstrate how they differentiate themselves from their peers and detail the product and client service innovations they have made over the 12 months to 30 June 2019.

To access the questionnaire, please visit:  www.investmentawards.co.uk.

Once you register on this site, you will be sent a guidance pack to help you complete your entry.

For queries about the questionnaire and the next stage of the judging process, please contact awards co-ordinator Joshua Wrazen at [email protected].

For queries about the awards process, please contact Professional Pensions editor Jonathan Stapleton at [email protected].

The winners in each category will be decided by a distinguished panel of industry judges, which will be finalised over the coming weeks.

The awards will be presented at an awards event to be held on Tuesday 5 November at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Further information about the awards can be found here: www.investmentawards.co.uk.
