UK - Law firm Sacker & Partners scooped the top prize - the prestigious Golden Star Award for Excellence - at this year's UK Pensions Awards.
The firm - which received the award at a glittering gala dinner at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday - was cited for the pro bono work it carried out for members of the Sea-Land pension scheme.
Professional Pensions editor, Len Roberts, who was chairman of the judging panel said: “Single incidents which change the course of pension legislation were rare.
But the battle by members of the Sea-Land pension scheme with the firm’s parent, Maersk, was one such example.“Sackers gave Sea-Land members unequivocal support in their fight for a just settlement.”
Businesses are experiencing auto-enrolment data error rates of up to 50%, posing questions over the reliability of pension records, Pensionsync says.
A nationwide survey of committee and local pension board members of the Local Government Pension Scheme has revealed high levels of confidence in all areas of their responsibility.
UK inflation unexpectedly rose to 2.7% in August, beating analysts' expectations of a drop to 2.4% from 2.5% the previous month.
