UK - AXA Investment Managers has restructured its UK equity team to include hybrid positions known as fund manager analysts.
The fund manager analysts - created to draw the analysts closer to the portfolios - will split their time between analysis and fund management, AXA IM said.
In addition, the firm has appointed Richard Prew as UK equity fund manager. Prew joins from Henderson Global Investors where he was director of UK equity retail growth funds.
“The changes announced today are a direct result of our commitment to investment excellence,” said Paul Griffiths, chief investment officer at AXA IM.
“The UK equities team is committed to raising the quality of their performance and I am confident these changes will assist this. Frankly, we need to raise our overall UK equity performance standards, and we are taking the necessary steps to do this.”
In his new role, Prew will focus on the high-alpha equity growth funds for both the retail and institutional sectors, working alongside Stuart Fowler.
AXA IM said the team had restructured to leverage better the alpha-generation abilities of the analysts. The team number remains unchanged at 14.
