UK - F&C Asset Management has appointed Andrew Lake, from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), as a director of high yield.
Lake was previously a director of global high yield and principal porfolio manager running MLIM’s European high yield portfolios.
At F&C Lake will report to Kevin Mathews, director, head of high yield and will co-manage with Mathews a number of F&C’s high yield bond products including the F&C European High Yield Fund.
He began his investment career in 1996 as a fixed income analyst with Hill Samuel Asset Management before moving to IBJ Asset Management International.
“High yield is a growth area for F&C. Andrew is an experienced investor with a strong track record who will play an important role in helping us to further build on this success. We are delighted that he will be joining the team,” said Mathews.
In 1998 he moved to MLIM where he managed products targeted at both institutional and retail clients.

The government is in talks with the UK and Irish pensions regulators over how to protect members of cross-border schemes in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
