UK - The basic state pension has risen faster than inflation between 1998 and 2002, pensions minister Ian McCartney told Parliament.
He said that during the period in question the pension had increased from £64.70 to £75.50, but if it had been updated purely in line with prices it would have risen to just £70.95.
