UK - Stephen Whittaker is to join New Star Asset Management as joint chief investment officer (CIO) alongside Alan Miller.
Whittaker will continue managing the New Star UK Growth Fund he took over in July 2002, while Miller will resumes management of the New Star UK Hedge Fund.
New Star International marketing director Rob Page said of the appointment: “New Star has grown rapidly, and Stephen’s appointment as joint CIO will further strengthen our management team, who oversee complex and increasingly diverse investments.
“Stephen and Alan’s combined expertise will provide a solid foundation for growth in our asset management business.”
The company manages institutional mandates, including the Florida State Board of Administration, Wells Fargo, the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana and Coca-Cola Enterprises.
