UK - European hedge fund manager Aspect Capital has appointed Michael Adam as director of risk management.
Adam has been a non-executive director of London-based Aspect since its inception in 1997. The firm was set up by Adam and colleagues - Anthony Todd, Eugene Lambert and Martin Lueck - who also formed the basis for managed futures company, Adam Harding & Lueck, which is now owned by Man Investments.
Commenting on the appointment, Anthony Todd, managing director, said: “Risk management has always been central to our investment approach as our track records demonstrate.
“With Aspect’s funds under management approaching US$2bn it made sense for us to centralise risk management in one team.”
Investors, driven by depressed interest rates, slower global economic growth and rich equity market valuations are examining non-traditional investment opportunities.
